Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm Emily. I love food, and I love saving money--hence my desire to find recipes that you can make on a tiny budget that still taste delicious. There's something so satisfying about making a meal that your husband raves about and then seeing his face when you tell him you made it for approximately 19 cents a serving. That look--the one that says he thinks you're the grocery queen--is priceless. But I love more than just food. I love reading books with my husband, singing along to my Pandora stations as I cook, going on walks, playing at the park with my little boy, making homemade ice cream, reading through old journals, visiting my neighbors, and seeing just how blessed I truly am.
When I was thinking of a name for this blog, I decided on Food is a Blessing because it really is a blessing. Food is amazing and wonderful, and we all need it. And we have so many options! We don't have to eat blah-flavored mush every day. There's a giant buffet table, so to speak, of options. And don't picture Golden Corral. Picture the midnight buffet on a cruise ship. It's incredible how wonderful food is.
I started this blog mainly because I wanted a way to organize my recipes for myself. I felt like I was always losing my little recipe cards or forgetting changes I made to recipes in cookbooks. So I figured, hey, if I put them on the internet, they'll never get lost! So here we are. It's been a year, and I've already expanded my recipe horizons so much. I feel like an actual cook now, and that feels pretty fabulous. Stick around, and hopefully you'll find some recipes you love just as much as I do.
I love that I know you. You are SO awesome!
